About the Book

A heritage told through time.

A history of family connections, cunning trickster animals, and adventures untold; the second volume of Old Grandmother’s Tree: A Collection of French-Canadian Folktales expands the beautiful compilation of folktales seen in volume one, set against the backdrop of early 20th century Québec.

On a frosty autumn morning in 1902, lumberjack Jacques LaRue enthralls the Meunier family with a strange tale of a mysterious forest giant inhabiting the slopes of Mont-Orford. So begins the next installment of the Meunier family’s adventures as they navigate a world of ancient trickster animals and family connections.

Combining richly woven stories and stunning artwork, Joseph Bolton’s and Natasha Pelley-Smith’s Old Grandmother’s Tree is a tribute to an untold history that will touch any reader.
